Edition 48: Ali Rohde Jobs

Roles at Ramp, IDEO, Paradigm; Oppty for those interested in deep tech

Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and great week so far!

I have a quick opportunity I’m excited to share with you all:

  • I have been helping a few incubators / founders / scientists find BizOps folks interested in helping build early-stage deep tech startups (in biotech, space, AI/ML, robotics, etc).

  • These incubators have assembled incredible technical teams, but are looking for operations people to come in, focus on the business side of things, and help push the company forward.

  • If this sounds like you, please fill out the form HERE.

  • STEM experience a plus but not required. I will share this list of potential candidates with these incubators and they will reach out if there might be a fit.

As usual, feel free to follow Ali Rohde Jobs on LinkedIn or Twitter, check out our new job board, or book a time to chat with me here. - Ali

Resource of the day: Skiplevel

As someone who came into tech from a non-traditional background, I was excited to come across Skiplevel, a program helping non-engineering tech professionals become more technical — without learning how to code.

Started by engineer Irene Yu, rather than coding, Skiplevel focuses on helping these professionals build a fundamental understanding of software, be able to communicate from a technical perspective, and understand the process of developing software.

She recently published a blog post explaining the motivation behind SkipLevel — and why learning to code isn't necessarily the best way to "become technical."

"Most of us think that you have to know how to code or possess an engineering background or a CS degree in order to be technical. But that’s like saying you have to be a basketball player to know what a free throw is!

"In reality, knowing how to code doesn’t automatically make a person technically literate. And many developers know how to code but don’t understand the fundamentals and are not able to communicate or are even aware of a wide-range of technical concepts and tools."

Role(s) of the day: Ruggable

Ruggable is a Los Angeles-based, venture-backed, rapidly growing e-commerce startup that is disrupting the $7B rug industry and revolutionizing the market for residential rugs. Our patented 2-Piece Rug System allows you to remove the top layer of your rug and wash it in your home washing machine, offering an affordable, stylish and convenient solution for young families, pet owners, and busy individuals.

We're a small, entrepreneurial team with big ambitions. We have a strong brand, established traction, and amazing advisors fueling our steady growth. This is an opportunity to get in at the ground floor and solve for complex challenges, while charting your own career.

#2: BizOps at Digital Brain (YC)

DigitalBrain is hiring its first BizOps person! We're currently helping several public companies and high growth startups unify their enterprise workspace, starting in customer support. We've grown incredibly quickly over the last 6 months and are looking for someone to come help build out the BizOps function within the company. We're backed by some of the best investors in Silicon Valley including Y Combinator, Moxxie Ventures, Caffeinated Capital, the founders of Notion, Pagerduty, Twitch, and more.

Here is our JD where you can apply as well as our founding story.
