Opportunit(ies) of the Day

I’m excited to spotlight 2 stellar generalist opportunities at early-stage startups.

First: Founding Operations Hire / Employee #2 (Remote) at Ambrook (seed-stage company), reporting to CEO, Forbes 30u30 honoree, and repeat founder Mackenzie Burnett.

  • tl;dr on the company: Ambrook is backed by top seed investors (Homebrew, Designer Fund, BoxGroup, etc). Its mission is to help farmers and ranchers be more profitable and more sustainable. They're building a financial management platform for agriculture, starting with tools that help farmers and ranchers automatically discover and apply for farm assistance, and have already helped users successfully apply for millions of dollars in farm assistance.

  • tl;dr on the opportunity: this hire will own a core part of the business that has early signs of product-market fit, responsible for ensuring a high quality of customer experience and rigorous internal processes as they aim to rapidly grow their customer base over the next few years.

  • Why this role is so cool: This is a great role for an aspiring entrepreneur, as it's an opportunity to learn what it’s like to build a startup from the ground up from brilliant, thoughtful, and fun repeat founders who are deeply embedded in the startup ecosystem. More on this incredible team here.

Second: Growth Specialist (Remote) at Pareto, led by my friend and Thiel Fellow Phoebe Yao.

  • tl;dr on the company: Pareto is a majority women-led and -operated remote team focused on economic empowerment. The company provides a virtual assistant for startup founders that helps entrepreneurs at top venture communities like YC, StartX, and 500 Startups save 1000s of hours each month on repetitive tasks like lead generation, market research, and admin operations. In the past 6 months, they’ve raised a pre-seed (backed by SoGal Ventures and Tsingyuan Ventures), tripled revenue, and built an incredibly diverse founding team out of Stanford, HEC Paris, Andela, and Microsoft Research.

  • tl;dr on the role: talk with and help startups stay focused on launching great products with Pareto.

  • Why this role is so cool: This is an incredible team that is extremely thoughtful, that is deeply embedded in the early-stage startup ecosystem, and that cares deeply about helping each team member grow. From the job description: “Most of all, as we say in every role we post: we're looking for colleagues who want to be part of a great team, build a product they're proud of, and also go after a big opportunity. If you share that POV, we'd love for you to consider joining us.”

Resource of the Day

I also wanted to highlight a resource that could be useful to some of you: my friend Christian Keil’s free newsletter, Silicon Valley Outsider.

Christian has founded his own startup, worked at 2 VC firms, and is now the Chief of Staff at a fast-growing startup, but still identifies as an Outsider at heart (he’s from the Midwest and seems to be residing on some sort of goat farm).

Christian is about providing an honest, inside look at startup culture to other outsiders, like this piece on finding a startup job as a businessperson."

Now, for the roles! - Ali
