Happy Thursday to our 700+ subscribers! Today, before getting into the jobs, I have 2 things to highlight:

Opportunity of the week

First, I wanted to highlight a job that is near and dear to my heart — the Product-Focused Chief of Staff/Employee #1 (SF or Remote) at Motif! Motif is an incredible early-stage startup that I have not only invested in, but have also been working for part-time as its Interim Chief of Staff. I’m going full-time on a new project (more on that soon), so am looking to replace myself in the role. However, now that Motif closed its pre-seed from a stellar group of angels and has onboarded 70+ users, the company is looking for someone full-time.

The product is a “ship-as-you-go” platform that helps developers and non-developers alike get up websites fast (eg my personal website, alirohde.com). The founders are fantastic and I could not recommend them highly enough.

Resource of the week

Second, I wanted to spotlight Skillful, a fast-growing startup run by my friends Loren Cohen and Kris Lachance that I think could be relevant to many of you.

Skillful teaches the technical skills you need for business roles in tech, including SQL, Excel, and Tableau. Skillful breaks its students into cohorts, each of which are led by mentors who use these skills in their everyday work, such as Biz Ops or Product people at DoorDash, Uber, and Postmates. Skillful also equips you with an incredible community that can help you prepare for and land your next gig.

The program costs $990, and new cohorts start basically every month. I went through Skillful myself and highly recommend it to those looking to pick up these skills.
